Once in the park, half the rides were closed, every toilet we came to seemed to be out of order and when trying to get a refund on the fast track ticket was told again to queue up at guest services, which we did for another 30 minutes We then queued for 30 minutes to get another ticket, my daughter was distressed because she couldn’t understand why we couldn’t walk into the park like everyone else. So a family day out was now starting to feel very stressful. It very much felt like my daughter who should be given easy access to the park out of all of us was the one who was penalised.Īll we wanted to do was get quick access to the park, unfortunately they do not give the disabled such a privilege to access the park with the rest of the family. I was then told I needed to go and queue up at the ticket office to get another ticket even though we already purchased a disabled rider ticket and also booked her ticket online. Tickets scanned, all ok until it came to my daughter’s tickets, who is disabled. All tickets booked online for a family of 4. Went through the bag check and approached the entrance. We arrived earlier and was directed to the disabled parking area which was great. Return to Alton Towers with my disabled daughter and other family members.

During this period our engineers work tirelessly to get the ride back in operation however they may not always be able to resolve the issue before the park closes. Due to the highly technical nature of our rides there can be times when we have to take a ride out of operation for an extended period of time. I do apologise that Rita and Th13teen were shut for the duration of your visit. At the Alton Towers Resort we pride ourselves on our guests enjoying our fantastic facilities and clearly during your visit we did not meet these expectations. To top it all off we lost £3 in a vending machine which we couldn’t get back as there were more huge queues at guest services! Very disappointing day Giant queue for coffee on leaving (gave up). Queue to get into sweet shop on leaving (gave up). Ladies toilets closed in the undercover seating area causing queues for the toilet by the exit. After lunch at 1 we only managed Spinball whizzer and 2 quick goes on Blade which we didn’t really want but needed something without huge queues to keep the kids entertained until we left at 6. We joined the Wicker Man queue just as it reopened following a closure, queued for 50 mins and then it broke down again leaving no time for us to go on anything else. Spinball Whizzer advertised 40 min queue time so we made our way quickly there and joined the queue still showing 40 mins, we queued for 80 mins in the end which we never would have chosen to do. At one point Rita, Galactica, Wicker man and Thirteen were out with 100 mins queues on Smiler and Nemesis. Main rides frequently broke down causing longer queues on those remaining running.
